Guys somebody help me out here with some guidance.
I had applied to a company through my college placement dept and the HR called me today to schedule an interview. It's is a fairly good role focusing on python and AI automation. But the problem is only AI/ML students are eligible but I somehow got shortlisted despite having a CS major.
The HR called me once again to confirm about my major and told me they are taking in only AI/ML students. She told me that she'll ask her higher ups and let me know.
The thing is I saw the list of students who were shortlisted (I'm a part of it) and I prolly have more experience in the domain than 90% of the candidates. I also have interned at an AI startup earlier. And I have a strong feeling that I can do well in the interview.
Now what do you guys think I should do? Ask her to stay in touch and not attend the interview or just persuade her to let me take the interview?
[P.s: speaking with the college HR dept is not an option]
