Guidance Request
Hey folks 👋 I’m currently working as a manual tester at HCLTech (YOE ~1), and over the past year I’ve been putting in a lot of effort to move toward development-focused roles. I’ve grown genuinely passionate about coding and problem-solving, and I’m actively upskilling outside of my day job.
I wanted to check if there’s anyone here who has successfully transitioned from a non-development role (QA/testing/support, etc.) into a development role. I’d really love to hear your journey — what worked, what didn’t, and what you’d do differently. Given the current unpredictable market, I’m personally aiming for a Data Engineering role, as it feels like a relatively safe and scalable path while still being deeply technical.
Any advice, guidance, or even a quick chat would mean a lot. Thanks in advance 🙌
