Guidance for a tcs digital fresher candidate
I am a fresher candidate with zero years of experience in corporate . I am a digital candidate. Recently been assigned to the Ps India GeM project .
I want to know about certain things in tcs can anybody answer :
- What is a wings program ? I heard that it promotes our rank from digital to prime. Are we fresher allowed to give that exam?
- What is this grading system and points ? A few weeks ago in my office people we like "grading ho gya prr salary me hike nhi aaya"(Grading is done there will be no salary hike this time) ? Are we fresher will also be graded ?
- How to get promotion in tcs as a fresher ?What is the anniversary bonus ?

1.Wings is an internal program where you complete some coursework and then appear for the proctored assessment. Once you qualify, you will get your revised compensation. It is separate from your anniversary/annual hike. (Prime is a new cadre, so I don't know but earlier wings level 1 helped to get Digital (7lpa) from ninja(3.36lpa) and wings level 2 gave digital to innovator(11lpa) upgrade) 2. There are 2 kinds of evaluation, one is called Rating and the other Band. Yes, this year annual hikes were deferred, you heard it right. Yes, you will be evaluated and the process will close by the last date of the 11th month of your joining. You will receive revised compensation from next month (provided some new announcement doesn't defer that too). You will only receive a rating in the first evaluation. From the immediate next cycle (March) you will become part of annual evaluation and will receive both band and rating. 3. Work nicely, there are projects where good work is appreciated. After completing 1 year, check in your project for promotion, I have heard some giving promotion in even 3 years but in my project they ask you to complete 4 years.

Be very cautious about what kind of project you are in. Take every opportunity to grow. For most of the people, it becomes very late when they realise that TCS isn't their home.
