Positives

  1. Good community folks to learn from, like minded people.

  2. Decent capstone project, given your teammates are serious about it.

Negatives

  1. Generic frameworks & super idealistic case studies, that often feel less realistic to what your can apply in your job day to day.
  2. As they have grown, so has the price and cohort size. It’s not the best value for money anymore.

Go for it if you are relatively new to product-growth & seek direction. But if you are fairly experienced in driving this charter, it’s best to skip.

It's only useful if you are specifically looking for transitioning or learning more about growth roles. It's useless in all other cases. And the 1% thing is bullshit.

Overall worth it as a PM.

I'll tell you what i got-

  • actionable frameworks in growth
  • community of like minded folks

Plus there is consistent efforts from the team of GrowthX to guide you towards roles of your choice or roles that are shared within GrowthX. There are multiple initiatives that you can participate in.

There are some specialised sessions that are launched in intervals like event led growth, partnerships led growth, brand led growth etc which are all free for members.

The concentration of high quality folks per 100 or 1000 you meet here is better than anywhere else you can find. Plus being india-first you are almost guaranteed to get a network that is relevant to your future and present - if you are adding value from your end too.

This is a copy paste reply. I've seen it in reddit as well. Nice try growthX folks.

I heard it’s good for switching jobs, as the community and connect they have is good and helps ppl to switch or get referrals for jobs easily.

Is this true ?

Most of the jobs posted are below 30LPA. If you are someone senior then it’s useless. Apart from it(personal experience) - The placement team is very unhelpful.

Had a call with one of them and asked the possibility of switching from Growth to Product(told me to start as APM).
They themselves showcased people moving from Growth to Product at senior levels. When asked about it, she mentioned ask those people!!

On top of it, she told my resume is not up to mark and I will not get shortlisted for senior roles. Fact is, I did get shortlisted for Senior Growth roles in established startups.

My 75k is simply down the drain.

Whatever you say my capstone team composition was spot on. We had a very good balance. The work load was so high that it kicked me into a groove of working constantly. Very grateful for having made the journey.

It kinda told me how much I can stretch myself. It was a 3 week test that defined where I lack and what are my strong points. Especially leading a team of folks much more experienced than me, delivering different qualities of work and navigating their own strengths and weaknesses, helped me understand where I stand with my leadership abilities (spoiler - not optimal). All of this was the by product of the actual learning while doing pedagogy of Capstone and it helped with a change in perspective!

I've been in a product role for 4 years. Did it and found a new way of looking at product management that goes beyond the usual san francisco gyaan. No hacks, just solid first principle thinking in product and growth. I thought it's super applicable and met tons of great folks.

Has anyone done a course for growthschool?

I personally have a pathetic experience. Their course material is good but they overcharge a lot. Upwards of 25K for a 8 week course. They have pre recorded videos. And huge cohorts. Live sessi...
