Growing up. Why this World Cup marks a moment in our lives 📒
Some of us saw the 2003 finals and how we lost. Most of us would have seen the 2007 T20 finals. I still remember going out on the streets that night. What a feeling.
And then 2011, the most special. A 50 over World Cup. Sachin’s moment. India’s moment.
But this one means majorly to me. All of those players had been playing much before I started watching cricket. Kohli, Sharma, Jadeja, Bumrah and everyone… we saw them from their first days in team India.
We grew up with them. And not they’re retiring.
It feels like a major story in my life has reached the final page. On to the next one. Such amazing years of watching cricket.
It’s time to grow up. And enjoy the next stretch :)

To me, 2003 was the biggest heartbreak and 2011 was the best ever redemption. And that's it. T20 WCs don't even feel like World Cups TBH. What's the fun in having a WC every alternate year? 🙄

Relatable!

True. Nothing hit as hard as losing the 2003 world cup.

Yes. Very true, I felt the same. Feeling old.

True..Sachin dravid Ganguly seniors..class mates in school are like ..dhoni yuvraj ishanth sharma and one year juniors Kohli Rohit

Everyday it feels like I should start fresh to this game which I have left playing five years back but I'm not able to. During childhood days cricket used to be everything for me, I wanted to pursue carrier in it but it didn't happened. I'm still hopeful towards it atleast to be motivated and fit. I'm 30 now, will it be a good decision to sacrifice some of my off time on cricket given I'm not financially very strong.

Oh wow So lovely to read this
You should definitely play in whatever capacity you can :)

It was a truly special day. Wasn’t it. ❤️
The thought of childhood ending tho 😭

We were unlucky for the last 10 years, I think many more trophies to come in future 🇮🇳
