I offered a candidate from a 110% hike and this person was checking if i had more room to offer a sign on bonus.
What would you do in this situation if you were the recruiter

You are offering a 110% hike to the candidate? That means the candidate was very good and has probably succeeded your expectations. If they are asking for a sign in bonus, and your budget allows. Give it. Else, just politely say that you've maxed out your budget by offering 110%. It's simple as that.

Abe jaa naa, 1 lakh ka 2.1 lakh karke bol raha hai 110% hike. Give actual numbers.

Please delete the post before people scold you. Pay must be given based on market standards not on previous pay.

People will try to get more no matter how much you offer. Human nature I guess. However, in this case, seems like they are naive or maybe need the extra money. Don't we all though..

Do you understand how percentages work? Some people are seriously underpaid and 110% won't make a big difference if they have a very small number to begin with.

True. My first job was 2.5 L CTC, 100% hike means it's 5 L CTC and I'm in Bangalore where expenses are high. I would be happy to get a joining bonus.
