Why does gratituty should be part of Ctc.

Horrible stuff. They are supposed to pay from companies side by law but they deduct from us.

Its only fair. Gratuity is actually a cost to the company and hence mentioned in the 'CTC'

It only becomes a cost to the company in the year when it is supposed to be paid.
It is also a function of your last drawn salary. Can you predict now what your salary will be after 5 years?
I'm not sure how they reconcile deducted gratuity over 5 years with actual payout.
