Grapevine is not LinkedIn
As much as we need to step up and help our tiny community out, I’m seeing a rise in low grade posts that do nothing but say ‘hey hire me thx’
There are monthly megathreads that highlight companies and the roles they’re hiring for, where this sort of information can be utilised by potential hiring managers
Mods, any reads how to curb this early on?

Which post(s) got you to write this?

I usually sort by recent posts and just today saw a couple of posts (and usually a couple everyday) asking for referrals and generally asking for the job scene. There was one a few days ago that just had a ‘yes’ and ‘no’ poll to a question ‘Are startups Hiring freshers’
Grapevine on appstore defines itself as the India’s largest community for honest and unfiltered career conversations. How would you redefine it (if needed) or do you feel that its users don’t get it?

How to curb this?
Do away with 🍇 and several regular posts will go away.
But yeah, since GV has raised funding, probably some of their KPIs would be around total number of posts, comments, time spent on app, etc.

Somehow I doubt the average job poster is too concerned with grapes. Mod intervention keeps some high traffic subs on Reddit clean
If they’ve raised funding I’m sure they can step up content moderation to keep the community growing correctly
What you think?

Makes sense, if the feed is clean, people would love to visit more often.
Let's see what turn GV takes.
I hope this social media from India really takes off big-time.

We need more technical posts tbh. Todha gyaan idhar bhi bato
