Grapevine has been such a leveler for corporate illusions

I was always fascinated with corporate designations. Category MANAGER HEAD of Marketing VP of Sales CEO

Now I know everyone going through same shit, life is harsh on everyone if not equally

People on LinkedIn are pretty fancy in these terms Grapevine has levelled this to great extent

I can now see people as humans, designations are just added tags

You're wrong on title inflation; it's needed at times but it has been taken to the extremes at startups primarily. I mean, there are professionals, who do not want to lose the prestige of the title and people want to feel they are profressing in their career and its not easy to ask for a higher salary simply on title. For e.g. its better to be called as Director of First Impressions rather than Receptionist but it needs to go along with a salary increase because that is what comes into the bank account at the end of the day.
Personally, i dont care if my job title is janitor as long as i get paid well for my specialization

Exactly because how will you lie to your startup employees about their impact lmao
