Grapevine Feedback : Recent vs Popular sort
Hey @grapevine,
I guess you recently changed the home page default sorting to 'Recent' from 'Popular'.
I majorly use Grapevine to look into the conversations happening. So when I open Grapevine nowadays, I always see posts with 0 comments. Only after 1 or 2 scrolls and checking the timestamp, I realise I'm looking at the recent ones. Then I change the sort to popular.
I'm not really sure about the intention/ JTBD of other users. But this metric might help.
Daily commenting users / Daily Active Users -> 1.If this metric is above a certain %, we can conclude a lot of users have commenting intention, so this can build conversations, so the other portion of users will always have something to munch on. Hence, "Recent" sorting would make sense. Commenting mode
- If the above metric is low, then it would mean most of the people are here to just read, so you want to give them something already. Hence "Popular" makes sense. Reading mode.
Also my sessions on Grapevine has increased in the recent days, but repeated content makes me drop off. Wish the network effect grows more and see lot of fruitful conversations happening.

The biggest problem is, these guys don’t respect the change in choice. If you change recent to popular, and you open the app after some time, you will again be reverted to recent. That is ridiculous.
Also, Popular should have some modifications, it should contain some daily popular content too.
