From what I've read on reddit, this is done to try and hide the work ex the candidate will have. Some companies make sure you should have 3+ yoe for the role even if all the right skills needed for the role has been satisfied

Worked for me don't mention graduation dates at all in your resume. I got a sde2 role despite the fact that I graduated last year
