Got terminated unexpectedly. What happens next

Sharing this anonymously and honestly, hoping to get guidance from people who’ve been through this.

I was terminated from my company after a short stint (around 3 months). The decision came suddenly—there was no PIP, no formal warning, and no clear performance issues communicated earlier. The feedback at the time of termination was vague, which has left me confused about what really went wrong.

What’s worrying me now is the future impact—background verification, how recruiters will see this short stint, and whether not having an experience letter will create problems later. Beyond the professional side, the mental impact has been tough as well.

For those who have faced termination: • What usually happens in the long run? • How did it affect your career, if at all? • How did you explain it in interviews and BGV? • What should I be doing right now to recover and move forward?

I’d genuinely appreciate any advice, lessons, or reassurance. Thanks in advance.
