Got rejected because of personal situations.
Recently, I gave an interview at this early startup in Bangalore. It consisted of 5 rounds.
-
The first four rounds were technical, design, and assignment rounds which went well. I answered all the questions fairly well and the interviewer was happy knowing the answer.
-
The fifth round was with the CEO - Now this was the turning point. He was more concerned about my personal situation. He asked questions like, where I live, where is my hometown, if WFO is okay for me (I was working remotely in my current company ), and where is your dad ( I said he was no more and that turned off the CEO of a company), how will you keep my mother in BLR, why your mom not living with your siblings?. And I was like "WTF man".the only technical question he asked -> "Have you ever hacked a system in your recent days?". ๐๐
After wasting more than 14 hours in the process I received a rejection mail without any feedback.
Message to recruiter - if you are more concerned about the personal situation of the candidate, please conduct a preliminary round for that.

Dodged a bullet, I would say.

Yup. Probably would get overworked to death

I received a call from Rapido. The recruiter asked me how will I move to BLR while Iโve mostly worked in Delhi NCR throughout my career, I said my hometown is in Rajasthan and Iโm open to relocation.
Second, after 4 years stint at your first company you have hardly spent more than a year in any of the next companies. I explained the reasons (I was laid off from my last org after 7 months).
Then she tells me okay I will share your profile with the team. The hiring manager is on leave today and weโll get back to you on Monday.
5 min. Later I received a rejection email. I asked the HR on whatsapp for a reason she tells me the panel didnโt select me. The same panel which was on leave 5 min. Ago.
So F**K YOU RAPIDO.

Leaving companies frequently is a big red flag
Even when the product youโre working on is getting defunct and you will eventually be laid off? :/

HRs even asked me about martial status. They think that single people can contribute more to the company. You have dodged a bullet.

This is a very valid criteria for many startups or high stress teams in large companies. Not politically correct but it exists as a checklist with hiring manager
Waise bolna nhi chahiye par us recruiter aur us ceo dono ki MKC.

Lucky you. You got saved from future trauma.

Congratulations for rejection ๐

I would have just replied back and sent a mail, I reject your company before they send rejection mail

๐

I was once asked by Deloitte, how will you resolve an issue if you don't know the solution.. I said, I'll probably Google. Interviewer asked, if it has to be googled, why should we hire you instead of a junior.. I quickly replied back, yes sure, go ahead and how a junior ๐ Was obviously rejected, even when all other tech answers were perfectly correct
