Got my first product design internship, have never been more disappointed

Backstory : my manager or lead , coz they're a startup and are in their 0-1 phase, is a dude who has no clarity or idea about what he's building and when I tell him a path to follow he says hmmmmmmmmmm and moves on, the design is done by 3 interns , that's it , no senior supervision , which is kind of freeing but a large part of the time , he has no idea what idea of us are getting at

You'd be surprised how often this happens even outside design. People who end up becoming bosses have no idea about even basics.
