Don’t expect for packages at present sistuations, this is the main reason to layoff any day it can happen.

Go for government job. The pay scale is almost equal now a days + extra perks in govt job. I have decent experience in private sector job but there will always be job security issue and market based increment. Govt provides pay commission and time to time DA increments
