Google HR Interview
Hi everyone, I wanted to check if anyone has experienced something similar with Google recruiting. I had an introductory call scheduled with a Google HR. During the call, she informed me that the position I was being considered for has already been closed due to urgency. However, she also mentioned that she will actively look for another suitable position for me and try to find something before the New Year.
For those who have gone through this process: • How realistic is this assurance? • Do Google recruiters genuinely try to match strong candidates to other open roles, or is this usually a soft rejection? • What’s the typical probability that a candidate gets mapped to a new role after a position is closed?
Any insights or past experiences would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Almost all google interviews go on for at least 3 months if you are extremely well, if not then more.
Almost all the time all positions we start working on get closed much before we even meet the candidate who is capable of clearing interviews- now this is largely in case of tech hiring (SWEs, data, etc)
Not sure about no tech or other areas of tech.
I have hired for SWEs. This was our situation.
Also- how do you call yourself “Strong Candidate” have completed your interviews?
Have you received your feedbacks?
Have they spoken to you about HC discussion?
If you are through all these then yes, they do everything in their power to hire you.

@JointSoul7 feel free to ask questions. I will try my best to answer.
