Going to Conferences a good idea?

I'm thinking of going to as many tech conferences as I can. I might be constrained financially a bit but wanted to know if it's a good idea? In terms of networking, opportunities and learning.

You can also try local meet-ups. They are free and takes only 4-5 hours of your weekend. Go to high quality conferences related to your work

Networking would be best thing that can be done. If you are presenting something then you can get the paid time off from work also.
