I worked previously as a BA for a year due to project requirement. As an ex BA they do have work but it's just that it's nothing compared to Devs or Testers. All the stories and JIRA management are done by BAs. They are first set of people understanding the requirements from Client and translating that into something which Devs can understand for development. Without BA Devs would be making a button which has red text instead of a button which has red background on hover (what client actually wants). Devs are not responsible for DoD, we develop something and fix bugs but the story acceptance and demo depends on BA.
Everyone has their own set of work and responsibilities.
