Getting release from project

Hi All,

Can someone share any tips on how to get release from the current project in TCS. I am not satisfied with the current project and even talked to some other project manager to join their project, however RMG came in the middle and didn’t let me join the other project saying that since I’m a lateral hire I have to join my current project only. Any tips?
