GenZ flaunting job offers on LinkedIn as if they won a Olympic gold medals

Opportunities are so much more then when I stared. We never flaunted getting a job into a Top company even when options were fewer. What is the need to give average gyan on linkedin for getting a job offer. Open question to Gen Z why are you so desperate for social validation?

I used to think the same, don't like this shift in behaviour. But I've gradually relised that unfortunately this ( social image, personal branding ) is the new demand & the new currency, entire business are being built on top of it, algorithms are favouring this, brands like Zomato & its founder and are using it to thrive.

Hence you will find iit/iim grads, founders of established startups/unicorns ( deepinder, nikhil kamath ), shark tank judges, sports persons ( Ronaldo entering youtube ) entering the space.

I know a guy who is into sales at a product company. One day before his interview there he called as asked me what that product does was and what this company does.

I saw someone with LinkedIn tagline as

"Offer holder at Microsoft, Google, GS, etc 4-5 company names"

and then giving paid "advice" to juniors.

It's a new disease.
