It can automate lot of work. Gen AI, AI agents are just mere part of agentic AI. Agentic can do work of most of experienced manual workers. And its true agentic AI will directly shrink manpower in any domain if data and ERP system exist.

Being a LLM dev, the expectations from AI are more than its capabilities. Clients just want to replace people with AI, that's not possible until at least agi comes. AI is very good for specific task
