Gen Z in the workplace — what’s your take?

Noticing a trend lately — many Gen Z employees join with high packages but don’t seem to take much responsibility, while a few are genuinely skilled and add a lot of value.

Curious to know: what’s your opinion on the overall impact of Gen Z in today’s workplace?

Genz are creative and best medicine for toxic workplaces and old millennials.

Hah, they don't have the brains to spend on understanding their work. You teach them one thing and they will make sure to F it up.

Lgbt and illuminati generation with Social media control.
I don't think they have maturity to take the IT industry forward.
Most of them can earn money on social media danhing and their parents have lot of money they don't need to work and are arrogant

I am a Genz, I am responsible and accountable enough to write my updates on a Live Doc... Dumb-fk boomer managers don't be reading the live doc and panicking in front of US stakeholders

GenZ doesnt follow office politics and that sure upsets the millennial middle managers a lot.

Office politics and office etiquette are two different things.

I am a genz and Initially I used work with full care and responsibility but once I found out Boomers doing things that are unethical and Manager supporting it I started quiet quitting. I do what is bare minimum and that's it

Same here, put 14 hours daily into work earlier including weekends but now give barely 6. I was too naive back then

Millennial here, managing this group. Gen Z know what they want out of their time and lives and they bluntly ask for it. I didn’t have that courage when I was young. Mostly because they already come from a better background in terms of education and money. But no doubt there is an over-entitled bunch as well creating a ruckus. Can’t defend that section.

This. They have the privilege of safety net in far greater numbers than their previous ones. And also the hindsight that even the most responsible employee can get laid off

Giving same update in 4 diff standup calls to diff counterparts is not responsibility

Genz's are best to work with, I had 9 people working shoulder to shoulder.

The moment you give them space and made them feel like you are one of them and they are family, treat them with respect and guide them properly thier result is outstanding.

Thing is old people get irritated with thier small mistakes and disrespects them, if you behave proper and provide good mentorship. And thats the job of senior to fix what they messed up thats why you are senior and all of them has joined as fresher and we ensured they get promoted atleast in 18 months to 20 months just see thier happiness when they see it released. Loved they are made different think different and make you learn things better and in a way you never though of.

I had too many experience like I never expected in corporate, like someone will cry on call because her mother not picking her call while she fall from scooty instead of crying because of minor accident.

It’s all good until you have to deal with them and trust me, it’s a lot of pain.
