Gathering Job Insights for making Switch
Fellow Data Scientists,
I'm planning to make a switch since there's not much GenAI prospect in my current role (IC).
But before starting to apply, I wanted to understand better from this community about the workplace and the nature of work (does it involve Gen AI, Statistical ML or pure Ad Hoc Analysis bs in the name of Data Science) y'all into, so that it benefits not only me but others in the community too.🙆
Job descriptions barely spell anything about the reality not giving you enough information about the role.
Maybe a template could be: Domain - Ecommerce YoE - 4 Tech Stack - Python, Spark, PyTorch, AWS Nature of Work - MLOps, Analytics
It may not be of much help but during my internship at my current company , my work predominantly revolved around finding ML and genAI use cases in the team and developing POC’s for it. For example I developed a approved software recommendation for internal uses using LLMs and vector search.
Hey, can you give me career guidance for this field, I'm not a beginner, but also not that pro, struggling to get opportunities
It's good imo you are getting that playground environment for POCs
