Relax this is Infosys not FAANG that you are taking so much tension and getting frustrated considering peanut salary.

Do whatever is possible within your limits and try to speak for yourself. Don't expect anyone to help you in corporate.

When he asks for updates, make him answer your answers.

You: We don't have required details. Right? ☹️ Mgr: Yes. 😊 You: Without required details we won't be able to proceed with the work. Right? 😐 Mgr: Yes. 😐 You: Without working, there won't be any updates. Right? 😊 Mgr: Yes. ☹️ You: Thanks. 😬 (mute mic)

In that case ask your manager for advice and suggestions on what the approach should be. When you ask people for help, they may not help you at all. But when you ask for advice, they will start giving you gyaan. Not asking you to boot lick but yeah fake it to get your work done, and get over the mess. Jaise ko taisa.

You are getting a salary for dedicating your full-time availability to your employer during their work hours. It is your manager's responsibility to make his/her resource "billable" during these work hours for which you are getting paid monthly. Based on your case and your manager, it is the reverse of what you think. It is not the salary that is worth the frustration, but the frustration you have isn't worth the salary. You don't need to have this much frustration in this company to survive. You should learn to toggle on/off your sincerity towards your work based on managers and team. Sincere manager and colleagues, sincerity ON. Else, OFF.
