We have a health insurance through a local agent. For my grand mother’s cancer treatment initially applied myself but the claim got rejected, then I approached the uncle and he told me I should have called him up directly for claims.. he did the entire paper work and appeal, got some bills modified and entire claim was processed in a few weeks after initial rejection. Have decided to buy policies in future through local agents only as their service is much needed during claims.

Bill modification is insurance fraud. They may cancel your policy if they find out. And no other insurer will cover a cancer survivor

What's the need of "help in settlement of claim" from broker side when most major providers directly "help" in it anyway?! Buy directly from whichever place you want.

Companies give too many excuses and reject claims. So if someone like an agent is there he can help us to do the paperwork and also to fight for claim.

Ditto does help with settlement but you can contact the company as well. The ditto guy told me how when companies are being assholes, they step in and try to assist

bought directly

None

Buy directly from the company website, keep family/friends informed about your policy, share the doc/ policy number with them. Company itself will help in the settlement.
