From Rejection Email to Offer Letter Has This Happened to You?
Is it normal to receive a rejection email stating that another candidate has been selected and the position is closed, and then later get a call from the hiring manager followed by an offer letter?
This happened to me recently, and I’m curious to know if others have experienced something similar. Is this a common part of the hiring process, or an exception?
Was informed by the HR of a Fintech Unicorn that they are going ahead with someone and my profile is on waitlist. She came back to me with an offer after the person who got the offer ahead of me didn't join at the last minute. By then I had joined another organisation and almost couple of months into the job.

That's sounds like so unprofessional practise happening by most of the HR
events if your interview is cleared and they ask for the documents to move your candidature
Do not trust until or unless they release the offer letter
Honesty mujhe toh offer letter ane k baad me bhi pta nh kyun doubt hai😂

It's an exceptional scenario, however multiple candidates gets shortlisted as a part of hiring process and you may be a wait listed candidate . In the event of primary selected candidate didn't accept the offer or withdrawal might have resulted in your lucky charm . So as long as you have the offer now all good and move ahead ..

Since they’ve released the offer letter, I’m serving my notice period based on that. There shouldn’t be any issue, right?

Yeah, this is not uncommon, HR folks are known to do such mistakes from time to time.

HR did good here, right? First, they rejected you quickly and didn't ghost u so that u can also proceed further. Second, they r honest with u stating the reason for the offer.
