From Lead Data Engineer to Assistant Manager – What’s the Best Move

Hi, I am currently working with TCS as a Lead Data Engineer. While exploring opportunities, I received an offer from GlobalLogic for the role of Assistant Manager – Content Engineering. It comes with a good hike of about 110%, especially since TCS is known to underpay employees.

I have 8.5 years of experience, but I’m a bit unsure about this role. I want to stay in a technical path and grow as a Senior/Lead Data Engineer. Although the JD mentions mentorship, technical guidance, and collaboration, I feel the role may lean more toward managerial responsibilities, which could make it harder to return to a purely technical track later.

Could you please advise what would be the best course of action?
