Friend working in Capgimini. Completed Maternity Leave, wants to be on leave for some more time to take care of baby. Currently on bench. RMG team is harassing her to do WFO and get a project or they will escalate.
she has asked for 2-3 months LWP but that request is also turned down by the Capgimini RMG team. What are her options other than resigning? If she resigns, how much notice period needs to be served ? WFH /WFO during notice period ?

Another aspect to consider if she will required to payback the maternity leave pay?

Unfortunately you can’t just extend maternity leave as you want. Most companies have a very clear policy on what time you can take off for maternity leave. There’s a lot of missing information on this post as to what the company policy is, what country, etc.

Is that with or without pay? If with pay, I don’t think there’s anything she can do to be paid. If without pay, and they still won’t allow it, they’re probably in a resource crunch and need her skills on a project. If that’s not what she wants right now, then she will have to resign. If she only wants 2-3 more months away, maybe they’ll be able to bring her back on easily if it’s a resource problem.
