Yeah, in our company, the board replaced the CEO with a new one, and he came in and over one year, apart from other leadership, he also replaced the entire HR department - from CPO down to line-level HR managers.
One by one, all of them were asked to resign, and new replacements were brought in.
So yeah, happens to HR employees themselves too, and more frequently than you think.
