Forced Resignation
I was on the bench for 3 months, I was upskilling and I wanted a good project. So that I can switch with those skills. But I never knew I was doing this at a bad time in TCS. Becoz there were many people who were on bench for years.i heard the news of layoffs and I was prepared that one day my name will come in the list and that day came, and HR called me for a discussion, they asked me to resign. By God’s grace, on the very same day, I got allocated to a project with better opportunities for learning and skill development — it was truly a hairline save.
I also want to mention that many people who were on the bench took TCS for granted. Even me. But I got the fact very early that TCS is not like it used to be.
And on the same day one of my friends resigned and there were tears in her eyes. She was not even able to talk properly. She was not even able to digest the fact that she resigned. In just 2 min everything changed for her. And there is a fact no one wants to believe that before entering the organisation or project all had some good skills on some technology or something. And then people are assigned with some irrelevant technology with which they don't have handson or they don't want to work. Now they worked and their skills vanished. If they remove right away what associates should do. The skills they have are nothing as per market ,to upskill them only it takes time. It's very unfair.
I hope everyone who was part of layoffs gets a good opportunity with a good salary.
