
Trending @Capgemini; Forced Into a PIP Despite Being the Key Performer and Knowledge Holder
Recently, I’ve been pressured to accept a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) even though I’m the only person on the team who has complete knowledge of a critical tool included in that very program. Despite my contributions, I’ve been asked to train all the newly hired team members and document every step of my work in PowerPoint presentations. They’ve also instructed me to provide knowledge transfer to another person who will take over my current responsibilities in the future. I have not yet accepted the PIP, but my manager is claiming that I’ve verbally agreed to it. I’ve already reported this situation to HR, senior leadership, and even the Vice President, but none of them have responded. I’m concerned that once I accept the PIP, they’ll use it as a step toward terminating me. Ironically, just a few days ago, I was helping our IT Director from Germany onboard new resources through my own network. However, after my senior manager, who is based in India, found out about it, his behavior suddenly changed and became extremely unpleasant. I haven’t resigned yet and haven’t officially accepted the PIP either. I’d really appreciate advice from everyone—what should I do in this situation?

Can we resign during BOTP? Will the notice be of 3 months? If not cleared botp, will it cause issues if I try for outside? I was informed if BOTP's outcome is negative, they will mention the same on the reliving letter and it would be difficult to apply outside.

You Can resign during BOTP. Nothing will be mentioned on your Releasing letter. If outcome is negative they will ask to leave with in a month,and will pay 2 months salary.

So if my outcome is negative, there will be no mention of it in the reliving letter?

Even though I trained my resources some of them are my seniors , spoon feeded ngts .Even my people from my accounts are connecting me for functional queries. No hike from last 2 years and got 3 rating

They can put us in PIP at any time other than appraisal cycle as well ?

Last appraisal cycle I was put into PIP due non complaince with BTO, I declined to accept. Even senior management from client side intervened to get my rating changed, client gave me star rating and excellent feedback as well. But nothing helped.
And I have been forced to accept PIP, and CG managers even got angry that why did I looped in Client in our rating process.
Eventually I completed my objectives of BOTP of coming to office 12 days for 2 months and I came out of PIP positively. But it costed me my variable and hike.
