For Married Couple
As a married couple how much rent do you pay? I just want to check and I am overpaying or everyone.
Who are these peeps paying 80K + rent and what sort of houses are they staying in. Bar South Mumbai and maybe some pricey Gurgaon apartments why the hell are rents so steep.
Even a class B builder building in a great location due to proximity to Tech parks, etc. are charging 80k for 3bhks
That's pretty sad. I am staying in my own 4.5 BHK in Pune , but if I would merge 2 2 BHKs un- furnished in rentals still won't be more than 70K-75k. Sad that 3 BHKs are going for upwards of 80k.
As an unmarried single man I pay 45k/month for a fully furnished independent house in Hyd.

We stay in 2BHK with 18K rent. Plus paying a house loan for 2 houses which I bought and one which my husband got.

My guardrail for decision : Rent should not be more then 20% of the family income(husband+wife salary but excluding Parents salary)
Now with this bracket then I choose preferences
- locality
- size of flat
- amenities
- society
- new or old construction.

The results aren't useful for your stated objective without %income and location criteria.
Rent for a decent 2bhk in Mumbai goes from 70-80k in Suburbs to 1.5-2L+ in prime South Bombay or high end properties. In Kochi, the comparable range 15k-50k
