Of course it won’t disappear but given a choice why would someone want to be in a good-to-have role (pm) than must-have role (dev)?

Must have is debatable given AI and if maybe Product is mature. Maybe there will be a new role that requires PM to also code with help of AI. With PM experience being the necessary criteria. My point is, it’s all speculation and PM role experience won’t be detrimental to career
