Firstly Swiggy and Zomato are getting expensive day by day. Then why have they included platform cost?

Are they forcing you to use their platform? You always the option to go out on rainy day in Bangalore traffic to get some munchies.

No one is forcing anyone. Is it wrong to discuss this topic ?

I don't have a problem with them being expensive.
I have a problem with them being non-transparent. The prices on the apps are way higher (30-40%) than what you see offline.

That's because restaurants have to pay that much % commission to these platforms. Restaurants don't want to cut their profits

They also need to survive. Milking every way possible to get profitable. 😛

This is unfair to people who have already paid for subscription. This is one sided TnC change.

Get rid of the socialist mindset. It is a free market out there. Logistic heavy companies need to survive else you can always feel free to pick up stuff by yourself.

The poll says all. If the demand is inelastic to platform charges, the companies can extract value. That's the reason for their existence

I am actually bullish on Zomato for this reason

Dont order from them.

Consumer court 🤔 they clearly mention the charge. Consumer’s choice to order or not.
Honestly, 2-10 rs an order or 1-2 % is a valid charge for listing restos, arranging delivery and allowing a lot of people to order from a range of cuisine that even kings did not have access to in the past😁
Cracking profits with consumer plays in India is a battle against entitlement 😂
