First US trip

I am F, 24 solo travelling to US for 20 days covering ~5 cities across east coast and west coast in November 2024. I will be staying with my friends in different cities. I am self funding the entire trip.

Any tips/ tricks / essentials which I should keep in mind while preparing for the trip ?
