Trending @Infosys; Finding a replacement is “My” responsibility

I’m with a toxic project for an year and half now, wanting to get out of this account for a while.

Got interviewed with another account and asked for a release from the current account.

As this is something I’m looking for my personal growth/ On site opportunities - It is my headache finding a replacement.

This is so frustrating, that I should find someone to replace me. Either the current account cares nor the new account cares.

How bad is this?? Why should I struggle for a replacement??

It's not your responsibility to find new replacement,
But you can do one thing.

1.Ask manager to provide replacement with formal mail. Add his/her senior as well as that managers manager (if things already gone bad). 2.if you already selected for another project then current manager can not do anything other than release you. 3.Ask on same mail for KT process. Create KT documents for your replacement. Show some candy for from your ends

I am assuming you have given this interview through IJP.if not ask you new team manager to create a new IJP position and then you apply for it. If through IJP current managers has to release in 2 months no questions asked. Unless you are a super critical resource in a super critical project and your manager can really pull some strings very high up. But that is rare . If you have given interview without going through IJp your new manager /team folks don’t know process. They can’t be interviewing someone who is on project and not coming out any time soon per his current account.

Yes. Not through IJP.

It's not your responsibility bro. Maybe you can talk with HR

Officially, u can not move out of ur current project until u complete 18 months. So ask ur another project to wait for u for 3 more months. Else ask the project where ur selected to talk to the current Mgr and provide someone as ur replacement from their account.

Stay in the same account until u complete ur 18 months. For u, it's just a Metter of 3 more months. apply for IJP, and move to another project. Then kisi ka baap bhi nahi rok sakega, and u will be at ur desired role too then.

It sounds incredibly frustrating to feel stuck in a toxic project and then be burdened with finding your own replacement which is not at all you responsibility. It's definitely worth bringing up to HRD. They should be able to provide guidance and support in navigating this situation.
