Finally got the high paying internship in finance with low CGPA..!!!

I got 40,000 stipend internship!!

I am below average student. Actually I was the topper of the school and from tier 1 college but you know education system and the way it messes with your mind..

Anyways my CGPA is 6.2 which is really really low. Even below the required criteria for many average companies (6.5CGPA). The companies from my tnp who offer similar stipend have CGPA criteria of 7.5CGPA 😶

I got the internship as data science intern in a finance company. I kept applying and applying. Even had impostor syndrome that I am not doing enough. Even posted here once asking for way to find internships with low marks.

Fyi: My resume is the best. Though my CGPA is lower. I have done several daya science projects and participated competitions on kaggle which I showcased to the employer.

I am not from computer background either (mechanical student) I just kept applying with my 3 page resume and extra curricular activities from the college and finally got it!!

Now I will be joining them from 6th of Jan and my stipend is 40,000!!!!!

Note: this is actually a brag post. And also for the students who feel their academics are lower this is to inspire them. I really want to reveal the name of the company but it's not well known and also I use gv to hurt the sentiments and bash political bootlickers lol.

Hint: It's not a well known finance company which caters to investment banks (our clients are some of the biggest investment banks). And I've investigated that environment is friendly with good people with 5 days of work and 3 days option to WFH (for both interns and employees)

If everything goes well I might even get PPO, which I investigated is in range of 17-25lpa for junior data scientist or junior research analyst (who has similar job in same domain)

Anyways now I'll be enjoying new year and holidays. Then join the corporate on Monday of fresh new year with new beginning, wish me luck 🤞

Let me tell my story

During my B.Tech, I balanced my studies with active participation in clubs and committees, and also engaged in sports and exploration. Aspiring for a non-core placement, I didn't participate in hackathons or apply for internships. After ...

Got an offer, finally

About me: 2023 Graduate. I have been hunting for full time opportunities since 1 year. Call it a mix of sheer bad luck, bad decisions, over filtration, less CGPA, low demand high supply etc.

I completed a 6 months offcampus internship...
