My manager showed me a rating 2 earlier however yesterday I was checking the portal and got to know that my overall rating is 3, do we have sections in rating and then overall rating.? Or just one rating ??

So this concept is called HR Callibration. It means the HRs can reduce the rating of an employee if they wish. Callibration also include increasing the rating but they would never do it. Its because Capgemini has a quota each year depending on BU n stuff for the people to be promoted. If the quota is done then they'll reduce the rating for rest of the folks.
I never understood why HRs are given this right. They have no right to reduce because they dont know if the employee is a deserving employee or not, but anyways they degrade the rating.
Same thing happened with me last year. My manager gave me 2 but it was later downgraded to 3 stars!! Still don't know what was the reason for this downgrade

HR system and policies are wrong jn this type of cases..what happend they give one year promotion and next year no hike..its menas responsibility increased and money reduced...totally wrong HR system...shame on HR system of Capgemini....
True, it was my first year as a working professional and Id worked my ass off the whole year. Had received 2 awards in my first year. Was absolutely disheartened when my rating was downgraded. It's like there's no point in putting extra effort in hope of better ratings, they'll give whatever the hell they want!

This happens with me last two year...1 raiting change to 3 directly..
