More hours ≠ More productivity, certainly not in Research. Sure, China publishes by far the most papers with their 996 work hours but vast majority of those Chinese research are paper mills that are either incremental or very hard to replicate or outright fake.

As for AGI, it's impossible to attain with current statistical models and need breakthroughs. Current LLMs even with chain of thoughts reasoning cannot able to emulate humans in safety critical tasks. To give an example, Geoffrey hinton once said that we should stop training radiologist as ML can easily outperform them. It has been 12 years since he made that statement, yet ML has not made much impact in radiology. All these AGI talks are premature, it would take atleast few more decades , if it's even possible.

Remove hundreds of useless managers(middlemen)
