Final discussion

The new company is asking for all the documents, the existing company offer letter, id proof, photograph, payslip and all, before having the salary discussion in the hr round, I haven’t shared or discussed a range yet, though have shared my old salary.

Is it a common practice that companies do? Is it okay to share these docs?
