Feeling Stuck in SAP ABAP. Is it possible to Shift to Product Based as a BCA Graduate?
I am a BCA graduate and was placed as an Associate Analyst SAP developer in Deloitte USI. It is a quite niche tech stack and it seems there is lot of opportunities and growth in it. The tech is constantly growing with new technologies coming. But working on it for the past 8 months, it doest feel satisfying or challenging enough. I always wished to work on Open source tech like Java and python and wanted to work in Product based Companies and right now I'm facing a dilemma of whether to continue in SAP, learn new sap skills and grow...or change my domain and tech stack.
Has anyone ever faced this? Is it possible to shift to different domain or do i stay in the domain Deloitte chose for me for the rest of my life?
SAP ABAP is good
I do believe ABAP is good. However when i see people from product based making good money as a fresher while i make 3.25 lpa, its discouraging.
@AchingSideburns74 SAP is no longer limited to ABAP only if a client goes on BTP you can go for CAPM which involves Node js or even python. I don’t know what ABAP project you are working on in my experience I have implemented AI solutions in client system being an ABAPer, there are lots o ways to learn extra things and be fexibile . For your product based query Even Google uses ABAP there are open positions for SAP application Designer in Google even in Microsoft there were two positions for senior SDE II . For me I prefer consulting more. So it depends on perspectives.
