Trending @Infosys; Feeling paranoid and helplessness about career
I have got trained in cyber security and reskilled in security testing. Now I'm doing manual testing and I have to do automation testing also. Before joining infy I had done some training courses in Salesforce admin and Development. Now I'm having 2 years experience as Test Engineer. It's like jack of all trades and master of none. So, It's been frustrating me. I am having literally confusion. In which stream I have to go. I have no realtime experience on Salesforce and cyber security, security testing. I'm not liking manual testing. How to resolve this issue. How to consider which is good for me.

Start learning the cloud, either AWS or GCP and learn a cloud automation like Terraform. Include your other skill sets with cloud and Terraform.
This can be done with public resources available on the internet within 6-9 months of dedication and sheer will.
After that, you will be unstoppable, be in terms of skill sets, confidence and monetary gains.

But the role is test engineer, it will reflect in the relieving letter. Won't there be any issue?

The role is just an identifier by your employer, it will reflect only the way you showcase it in your cv. And in your reliving letter, as much as I know, your designation/job level will be mentioned, but not your role.

Same for me they trained me on the server . Assign role as a test Engineer . On the client side I am working as a data engineer . Whenever hr call me I say my role is test Engineer and working as a data engineer They were surprised .

Try doing some projects on your own at home for practice. do some certifications related to what all you studied in Lex. Nobody can deny your skillset if you have certifications to prove it. That will make things easy for you. Then ask your manager if there is a scope for automation or something else in your project. If there is not then check for IJPs and start applying.. the certifications you have will help you that time.

Focus on automation first. It might help in your project and you can add it to your resume as well. In your free time you can practice on any other stream..
