Feeling overwhelmed, how do i break in?

How does one get real world experience? How do I land internships effectively? What value can I bring to the team I am interning with?

The reason I am anxious has more to do with the fact that all my "internships" so far were not good experiences, I had to do them because my university asked so. And for that we were given merely 2 months of time. Naturally in tech domain, 2months internship cannot do anything.

Now I am in final year of my university and I am very unclear, without any role models or mentors, to give me clarity on what I should be doing.

Any small insight would help. Thanks in advance.
