Trending @Infosys; Feeling Not well and looking for suggestions

Hi all,

I've been working in infosys as SSE (Software Testing) for the past 3.6 years. And my current CTC is 466000 LPA, I feel I deserve more since I've been receiving high performance ratings from the last 2 consecutive years. I have expressed my salary concern to my manager and she clearly said nothing can happen on salaries. So I have tried for another job and got it in a short time and I've resigned on 2nd April and my LWD is 2nd July ( Just 20 days left from today).

But now I'm feeling that "What I did is correct or taken a bad step" After considering everything below :-

  • I've been receiving a high performer rating for the past 2 years, which means I've gained strong knowledge on what I'm doing. And mostly everything happening in my favour- No stress, no heavy work load and mostly everyone is supportive(even if they are not supportive, I can manage them without hurting & having any guilt.

  • I've been working from Home for the last 2.5 years. I requested my manager and she accepted it. And I'm sure even if I requested in future she may accept WFH without any hesitation. I've been working hard and the manager is supportive and she said she doesn't have any concern for providing exceptional WFH facility and my team is aware thalooking for suggestjonst I'm working hard and delivering quality even when wfh.

  • As I mentioned my Current CTC is 466000 LPA but the offered CTC is 7 LPA (50% from the current CTC) but the offer which I Received is from small scale company in Banglore(work environment looks good as per reviews for now) and it's 5 days mandatorily working in Office in banglore.

Looking for your suggestions after considering all the above and what if I withdraw my resignation ( consequences need to think)

Firstly stop feeling guilty…they gave you good rating but that won’t get you your bread and butter

Secondly step out of home and go to new work…if you think you can manage it in ur salary then i would highly recommend to work in office environment. Work from home will make you sick eventually

You got benefits from manager because she needed you. Working hard is good but you need to work smartly…and that you can learn if you work from office environment and meet folks…for me experiences matter more than benefits like wfh

Why don't you try bridge program within infosys. You get the same 7 lpa if you become associate Consultant

Once you become associate Consultant you can switch with that pay which can bring you significant difference in your salary. With that salary you will be comfortable moving to Bangalore etc

Take as much as opportunity you get, this is your growing stage, try to take counter offer above 7 lpa.

I will suggest take that offer bro. After 1 year you can switch again. Then your base will be 7LPA and companies mostly give hike on your current CTC. If you don't switch and switch let's say 6 months or 1 year later, again your base won't change much. Anyways, you still have 20 days. Hope that you will get more offers. All the best.

Bro stop felling guilty … just connect with the people who working in that company and ask them how is the company if it is good then switch man .. don’t hesitate to do that . If your worth Is more than 4.6 lpa then why you will work in this low lpa . This is IT industry i believe you will only earn money when you will switch .

If you want to base your decision purely on financial - short term this bad decision as you save more wfh. Long term it’s a good decision as you can double your salary again after 3 years. So in 6 years you will reach 14L if your learning trajectory goes. That will never happen if you stay in infosys. So if you are good and ok with wfo, like challenges then this is right time to switch.
