Feeling lost…..

I recently joined a new company with an 8.5 LPA package. In my previous company, I was earning 4.5 LPA, and I have 3.2 years of experience. At first, I felt incredibly happy…..it was almost a 90% hike, and it felt like a big achievement

But that happiness didn’t last long….. I found out that someone with the same experience as mine is earning 12 LPA. Since then, I’ve been feeling depressed. I don’t know why, but I constantly feel like I’m behind in life. I keep losing focus on what I should actually be working on.

The real stress started after discussing salaries with everyone. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked about theirs… and maybe I shouldn’t have shared mine either. If I hadn’t compared, I probably would have stayed happy at least for a year. Now, I struggle every day, wondering if I even belong in the IT sector. Has anyone else felt this way? If yes, please share your experience and advice. What should I do?

You answered your own question in the post it self so yeah you should stop comparing and instead feeling depressed or left behind simply keep working on your skills and switch.

Someone will always be better than you. If you are unable to get over the fact check, I will suggest that you start looking out and change companies. And DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE AGAIN OF DISCUSSING SALARIES! It has never worked well for anyone. We always find someone better than ourselves

But honestly this switching process is way too long and this phase is extremely difficult because of constant learning and ups-killing brain triggers and persistent self doubt taunts…

This is why they tell people not to discuss their salaries.
