Feeling like I have invested a lot in a losing stock...

Writing this post after a lot of thought. Have been with TCS for 13+ years now. No onsite till date. Skills - Project Manager, Business Analyst. Last 5 bands - all A. Got released because of ongoing senior optimization in account.

I now feel as if I have invested a lot in a stock (i.e my career at TCS) and to get good 'dividend'/'growth', I should go to onsite now. Health has also taken a setback recently. Onsite roles are hard given the current market.

Feeling low, tired and confused.

What do you suggest I should do?

Upskill and leave TCS.
Try hard for onsite.
Opt project w/ less work+Focus on health
Stay offshore + start side hustle

13 years at TCS....Wow! Really any motivation behind staying for long in TCS??

For the first 4-5 years it was okay... Then visas were initiated... which got rejected. Then stayed because I needed WFH (pre-covid), and my managers helped.

I think sometimes reasons other that money do matter when it comes to staying back.... Since health should be a primary concern before work....i think better to focus further path based on the same. Also hope you are not the only breadwinner in the family...thinking from a shared responsibility point of view..

How come you never get the on-site opportunity? 13 yrs not even once?

Hard luck. Good projects, bad timing. :(
