Feeling Burnt Out in Just 11 Days of My First Job – Startup Life Is No Joke
After hundreds of cold emails and LinkedIn messages, I finally got a job in a startup as an SDE trainee. While my friends are chilling at MNCs with 2 WFH days and no work on Saturdays, I’m over here coding into the weekend
It’s been just 11 days, and I’m already working on production code. No onboarding, no handholding, just straight into the deep end. The hours are a mess. There’s a 3-year bond, but the offer letter is vague — it only mentions a 1-month notice during training, and a 3-month notice post-training before officially becoming an employee. Nothing about what happens if I break the bond.
I know people say startups teach you a lot, but this is draining. Is it even worth it? Anyone else regret skipping the MNC route?
Just needed to vent. And maybe hear if someone out there made it through the grind and came out stronger (or wiser).

You are right startup teaches a lot. Not just about tech but about life in general.
I hope now you know to ask questions to clear the unknowns and the ambiguity, research a company before joining it and know not to sign vague offer letters with 3-year bond.
It’s part of life buddy. If you don’t fit in, it’s not the end of the world, leave and join a different one. It’s just been 11 days.

Nothing is more important than peace of mind. Better to make the call now then couple of months later. There are many companies with fewer shitty clause and better money to offer.

If you are worried about the bond, then start underperforming. They will let you go
