Feature Analysis for Showing Order Count

Zomato dropped a new feature showing order counter for the day. For users it might be a number telling what is their order count based on time when they place the order. Although it Does not add much of user value, just a number. Useful for Deepinder maybe to track how Zomato is performing but not much on user side, after sometime users might not pay attention to this number

But going down the line, if this metrics gets connected with some cashback value based on certain constraints like 1st 10k orders , certain orders count every day etc. Then this can be a pushing factor for more orders for Zomato by building competition around this order counter Some extra discounts for users also

What do you think about this feature??

Zomato knows how to always be the topic of discussion. They might even have a weekly calendar on how to make people talk about them. Helps with keeping them top of mind.

On this feature specifically, kind of social proofing, might or might not help with retention and incremental orders.

Swiggy vs Zomato

So how many orders did zomato + blink it vs swiggy + instamart this year? I see CEOs from both companies post some plots (without scale calibration) or data points without actually sharing the number of orders.
