Fake Flexing of Iphone

Met a guy at the gym yesterday. Makes 23k a month and has bought 1.35L Iphone17 Pro. I don't understand the financial decision, surely driven by buying to impress.

Or maybe he is just happy. U would know that person better, so i would trust ur judgment. He will grow up at some point of time.

It's all about social media fake influence! And also easy EMIs. Maybe an iphone on the long run is good because of its 7 years of software updates but when the salary is just 25k, it is a mindless purchase

It's that person's life and their hard earned money. They have the right to do whatever they want with it. Who are we to judge?

Also, we don't know what's going on in their life. Maybe someone gifted them part or full amount to buy it. Stop judging and let others enjoy whatever they want to.

You gotta realize that buying an iphone pro model is a dream for a lot of Indians. They treat it as an asset to get a visual edge in professional appearance as well… perhaps to flex not the iphone but the financial planning to buy one.

I don't understand the logic of financial planning to buy a depreciating asset which is 7X your monthly salary.

People know it's crazy to buy an iPhone that costs 4-5 times what they earn, but they do it anyway because of 'reverse psychology'. For a lot of folks, having status matters more than money.

That's where Indians are falling into EMI trap

We attach too much importance to financial prudence these days. Everyone is sold to the finance gurus and their gimmicks. He likes the phone and gets it simple. Everyone has right to enjoy and fulfil their wish. At least he is not stealing someone's money like vijay mallaya , lalit modi and pretty much all polticians
