Fact: 80%people on bench previously exploited bench policy due to it now most of them facing issues on bench. Upgrade yourself or leave.

I am project manager Before 6 months I was working closely with RMG and I get all Bench people data. For onboarding people based upon skills i filter out the profiles from excel.Myself and my team use to call people daily around 100 people. Then my requirements were on front end, back end and AI developers with atleast 4 years of experience. Out of 15000 bench people I use to filter around 300 people who are having similar skills. When we use to call them 50% never answer calls we use to try daily for 2-3 days but no answer. Remaining people who answer calls are having so many demands such as WFH, onsite, location means same city but they want near by tcs office, some people show so much of attitude, etc. I use to think why this people are behaving strangely this is very good opportunity as developer and working closely with client and they will learn new skills in project. But they are not bothered abt all this they want comfort and relax in bench for some mlre time. I am saying this for 80% not every one. In this big organisation I am not able to find 10 good resources with right skills and positive attitude. I got only few people from bench others I got from EP candidates. Then most of the people never try to upgrade their skills, always relaxing on bench, honey moon period. But now the situation is reverse people want to go in projects what ever it may be to survive. Bcoz of this people genuine people in bench and in projects are facing heat due to layoffs. Final thing want to say is don't consider your job casually always try to upgrade the latest skills to survive in market, if you are not having intrest in job do some business or some thing you like to excel. Let the people who really want job and deserve be in that place.

If the intention was to reduce bench that could have been done with a decent and feasible bench policy like 60 days of bench in between projects. But the intention is not to reduce bench but to layoff and maximise profit for their our salary increases.

Now they are ruthless so primary target is on bench and next they will come in projects and release them. Yeah they want to increase profits by doing this.

In other company like HCL or Even wipro you never seen a C3B reporting to C2 . Because C2 is better boot locker compare to C3 . So it is very necessary to check skill as well as role and manager . In your project how many people reporting to their juniors? Can you please explain. You your self shouted to your senior. If you are capable ask management to promote to that ladder. Like if you feel c2 is better then C3A then promote to C3b and then ask to manage ,C3B . TCS have so much loop holes and compare karna hai google ai cloud etc .

true in my project C3A person was leading a testing team and the manager brought one C2 associate and told C2 to lead the testing team including C3A guy. Now C3A guy approaches the manager and asks for clarification The manager replies that C2 has better exposure in this platform , yimou both have the same years of exp and TCS dont follow any hierarchy regarding reporting and then C3A guits. C3A was an automation guy and leading the team and C2 was purely a manual tester.

And this is because you took interview in AI and once allocate ask for L3 support and if associates find good opportunities in another project you TCS manager are not ready to release just for project profit even you know that his or her skill better used in another project . First correct your system sir then ask for bench people .

Your proposal is wrong , first you need to bring 3 or 5 interviews policy. Match the skills of skilled match people do not accept offer then take action. People like you in management is without any vision. One day you wake up and said aaj sabki laga doonga. Why management even encourage such policy . In one of my training 2015 , trainer only said join project which match with your aspirations then only you give your 200%

You don't know first there is client interview and it is T& M project. Where client selects then only we can onboard people in project. We take best lot from RMG and client will take final decision. First you are very immature and talking abt vision.

I am an experienced cloud engineer . When i was on bench, someone interviewed me and want to join me in his project. His requirement: manual data analysis

Do he require any of my hard earned skill : no Do i learn and grow in there : no (he mentioned no for 2 years)

If i joined in that project , i am finished for my entire career.
I waited and have a good project now.(at least for now)

And then project managers like u make such long comments about people not joining in project.

We also need to grow, we need to get good opportunities.

Do u take people in ur project if they have learned these skills by their own? Probably no Because many people called me for devops , and even though i have learned these skills, they want people with real project experience.

I learned a lot when i was on bench, but no use. Why would people upskill themselves when no one going to consider these skills while taking interviews?

These clowns always point at others but never introspect. RMGs, project managers and HRs are the most incompetent pieces of shit out there and deep down they know it as well hence they try to deflect that blame to others.

Until manager like you in TCS , it will never grow that is my prediction who just post with analysis. What is actually problem why people don’t want to join project why they are on bench for long time. TCS have problem because this is the only company where people join as Associate consultant and from day one he reports to IT analyst.

Here you are talking your personal problem and injustice happend to you and applying to every thing I was talking abt people who are having 3-4 year of experience who will not have this issue and it is T& m project. They will be working form client office so managers involvement is less and client feedback is critical for their performance. I'm system there are loopholes but I am not sitting in C position to do all corrections. I am talking abt few bench people and their attitude bcoz of them others are suffering now. Top management have free hand to RMG and hr and they are behaving like psychos with out emotions and compassion.

Personal phone is not an official mode of communication, problem with such Tcs seniors is they just randomly call ppl from unknown number and evaluate on the fly .. Schedule a meeting invite with JD attached to the associate and see if they attend the call.. Such unprofessional management is contagious and they spread it everywhere they go and ruining work culture

Most of them are not using teams bcoz of license not provided,not having laptop bcoz they will get once allocation is done. I agree the process need to be improved. But just tell me if you are looking opportunity outside the organisation do you expect calls from official numbers mostly they will call from personal only right. We are scheduling interview and also mockup for client interview with the RMG people but first we need to check with them. Because skills mentioned in excel are pulled from ievlove and some of them they have done in past and currently they are doing some thing else. So many issues in system. But understand one thing we are calling to give you opportunity and same right you are also having to choose right project you want but i see so many not having passion in bench just doing timepass. But now things changed bcoz of policy.

This is true, even I have observed that. While I was slogging for hours and project grew in size because of my good technical work never got good increments. One more fact is project managers in TCS are the most incapable bunch of people I have seen. I am quite sure they wont be able to crack a single interview outside, people who cant do anything else are basically made PM in TCS.

Not all Project mangers are in same category. I was technical lead worked in research and development for 13 years in different OEMs and joined TCS as technical lead but I am having niche skill in engineering domain here projects are less in that domain. So did wings2 program and changed domain to management but upgraded my skills in Gen AI, azure cloud , devops, etc. so don't generalise every one. In future only project managers with out technical knowledge will be difficult to survive.

Completely agree, I couldn't find one person for 6 months because of unwillingness to learn, attitude, demands, etc. The customer was unhappy, he asked another vendor, they got a person in 1 week.

TCS should have addressed the bench warmers early to avoid this situation.
